RESERVATION POLICIES

Our reservation policies are designed to ensure a smooth and secure booking process for all guests. A $100 deposit is required to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your arrival, or 21 days before arrival for holiday stays. We cannot confirm your reservation without the deposit.

At our guest house property, check-in time is at 3:00 PM or later, allowing us ample time to prepare your cabin for a comfortable stay.

If you plan to arrive after dark, please provide us with advance notice so we can ensure a smooth check-in process. Check-out time is at 11:00 AM, giving us the necessary time to ready the space for our next guests.

Should you require a late check-out, please inform us in advance; otherwise, a fee may be applied. We strive to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your needs and ensure an enjoyable experience.

CANCELLATION

Our cancellation policies are as follows: If you cancel within 10 days of your arrival, all monies collected will be forfeited. If you cancel more than 14 days in advance, 50% of the funds collected, minus a 10% processing fee, will be refunded. For holiday stays, a 21-day advance notice of cancellation is required.

We prefer to offer gift certificates or work with you to reschedule your stay at a future date, ensuring that you still have the opportunity to enjoy your time with us.

All rates are based on single or double occupancy. A 6% Texas state and local hotel tax will be added to the quoted rates. For each additional guest 8 years old and over, beyond the initial two guests, there is an additional charge of $25.00 per person per night.

The exception is the Rocky Top Cabin. The rate quoted for this cabin includes up to 4 people. Any additional guests will incur the same additional charge as quoted above.

HOUSE RULES:

SMOKING

Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes and vapor units, is permitted outside only. Please dispose of your cigarette and cigar butts properly, as they can start fires. Ensure the butt is completely extinguished before disposing of it in the designated receptacles. We don't want to confuse our native wildlife into thinking they've found an unusual treat or upset Smokey Bear!

PET POLICY

Pets are allowed in specific cabins only, with an additional charge of $20.00 per night per pet. Prior approval is required, so please contact us in advance. We request that pets be kennel-comfortable while inside the cabin and on a leash when outside on the property. Please pick up after your pet. We appreciate that! Pets are not allowed to sit or sleep on our beds or couches. Feel free to contact us about your four-legged travel companions—we'll even provide treats for them!

QUIET HOURS

Quiet hours begin at 10 PM out of respect for all neighbors and are strictly enforced by property owners and managers. We ask that you be respectful of other guests and mindful of your noise level. Sounds in the beautiful canyon can carry and sometimes be amplified. Therefore, any disruption to the peace and serenity our guests come to enjoy will not be tolerated. We aim to encourage the close visits of native inhabitants, such as deer, birds, foxes, armadillos and turkeys, near our cabins.

FIRES

We have a large communal fire pit located on the property for our guests to enjoy, and we supply firewood for your convenience. Fires are prohibited if the wind is 10 mph or greater. Please check with management before starting any fires on the property. We will provide buckets of water so you can extinguish the pit when you are done. Fires are strictly prohibited anywhere other than in the fire pit. Our property has too much fuel for a fire to risk allowing fires anywhere other than the specified area.

HOT TUB RULES (Only for guests of Tree House and Milky Way Cabins)

Please observe the quiet hour policy.

  • Shower to remove lotions, oils, and makeup prior to entering the tub.
  • Never add salts, bubble bath, or oils to the tub, as this will require draining and cleaning.
  • Ensure the lid is closed and straps are secured when leaving the hot tub to prevent leaves and debris from clogging and damaging the jets.
  • Breaking any of the above rules will result in an additional $75.00 cleaning fee added to your bill. These are simple rules, and we do not want to punish you or charge you more money. Please enjoy the hot tub!

RECYCLING

Each cabin has a blue recycling can under the sink. Please deposit your aluminum, plastic, cardboard, and glass recyclables into that can. We will separate the items and take them to the recycling center. Keeping our natural resources strong is important to us!

HOUSEKEEPING AND CLEANING

We take pride in being an environmentally friendly guest house property. Guests are encouraged to participate in our green policies by reusing their towels for the duration of their stay and conserving water. Walnut Canyon Cabins are cleaned before new guests arrive, and we do not provide room service or cleaning during your stay. However, for guests staying more than four days, we are happy to supply fresh linens and schedule a cleaning upon request.

DAMAGE/THEFT

While accidents do happen, registered guests will be held financially responsible for all damages to the property or missing items discovered during their stay and/or immediately upon departure.

PRIVACY/SECURITY

We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone. Your payment and personal information are always safe. Our secure sockets layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card numbers, names, and addresses, so that it cannot be read over the internet.

LIABILITY

Here is the fine print: Walnut Canyon Cabins (WCC) accepts no liability and will not provide compensation for any issues arising from force majeure or circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to floods, earthquakes, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of terrorism, fire, or failures of electric power, gas, water, or other utility services, plant machinery, computers, vehicles, or building structures.

WCC is not responsible for the loss or damage of any property left in the cabins, except as required under Texas law. We will not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or pure economic loss, whether caused by negligence or otherwise. The Company’s total liability is limited to the value of the contract. Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by WCC’s negligence, or liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

RIGHT OF REFUSAL

Walnut Canyon Cabins reserves the right to refuse bookings at any time.
